Welcome to the Bimmer Garage community. This forum is for everyone who loves BMW M cars and fast BMWs, whether you own an E30 M3, drive a modern M340i every day or are still dreaming about your first M car. You do not need to be an expert to join. Many of the most useful questions here come from new owners.
Why we ask you to introduce yourself
A short introduction helps other members understand your experience and your car. When you later ask a question in Help & problems, people already know what you drive and can give better answers. It also makes the community friendlier: it is easier to help someone when you know a little about them.
What to write in your introduction
You can keep it short. A good introduction usually answers a few simple questions:
- Your first name or nickname and the country or region where you live.
- What you drive today, with model, year and engine if you know it.
- How long you have owned it and what you like most about it.
- Your plans: keeping it original, restoring it, track days, or simply enjoying it.
- Your dream car, if you have one.
If you do not own a BMW yet, tell us what you are looking for. Many members are happy to share what they learned when they bought their first car.
Add a photo of your car
Photos make every introduction better. Use the photo button when you write your topic and upload your own pictures. Please do not share pictures taken from other websites, and think about privacy: you can cover the number plate if you prefer.
A few simple rules
We want this to be a safe place for everyone:
- Be kind and patient. Everyone was a beginner once.
- No links and no personal data in public posts. Use private messages if you want to exchange details with another member.
- One topic per introduction. Later questions belong in the right forum, for example Tech & DIY or Buying & ownership.
What happens next
Once you have introduced yourself, have a look around. Read the pinned topics in each forum, follow the categories you care about and answer questions where you can help. Your rank grows as you take part, and helpful answers in Help & problems can be marked as the best answer by the person who asked.
We are happy you are here. Start a new topic in Introductions and tell us about you and your BMW.
