Wheels and tyres change the look and feel of a BMW more than almost any other upgrade. Members often ask what a certain wheel looks like on a specific model, or which size fits without rubbing. This topic explains how to share your setup in a way that really helps others.

The details that matter

When you post your wheels, include:

  • Car: model, generation and body style.
  • Wheel: brand and style, or the BMW style number for original wheels.
  • Sizes: diameter, width and offset for front and rear.
  • Tyres: brand, model and size, and whether they are run-flat or star-marked.
  • Suspension: standard, M Sport, lowered on springs or on coilovers, and the approximate ride height.
  • Spacers, if any, with their thickness.
  • Any rubbing or modifications needed.

Photos that help

  • A side view at wheel height, showing how the wheel fills the arch.
  • A front three-quarter view, the most popular angle.
  • A close-up of the fitment at the top of the arch, showing the gap between tyre and arch.
  • The wheel face, cleaned, to show the design.

Take photos on level ground with the wheels straight, so others can judge the fitment accurately.

Wheel and tyre changes must be safe and legal in your country. Load and speed ratings must be correct, and some changes may need to be declared to your insurer. Our blog guide on wheel fitment explains offset, width and load ratings in more detail.

Avoid common mistakes

Do not ask members to guess sizes from a photo alone. If you are planning a new setup, share the measurements of your current wheels and ask specific questions. Remember that the same size can fit differently depending on suspension, tyres and alignment.

Show us your setup

Reply below with your photos and full details. A good collection of real-world setups helps members choose their next wheels with confidence and avoids expensive mistakes.

If you change your setup later, update your reply with the new sizes and photos. A before and after comparison on the same car is one of the most useful things you can share, because it shows exactly how width, offset and ride height change the look.
